At first I wasn’t sure what year these newspaper clippings were from, but ads showed a pound of bacon for $0.79!
Turns out this is the Carlton-Yamhill Review from July 15, 1971.
Quite a few local businesses placed ads in the paper encouraging people to attend Derby Days. From 1963 to 2026, businesses around the region have been critical in keeping Derby Days going strong for all to enjoy.
